Who we are
Retura is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as required under UK data protection law.
What data we collect and why
We only collect the minimum data necessary to provide our service. Here is exactly what we collect and why:
- Email address — collected when you join our waitlist. We use this to send you updates about the Retura app launch and related news. We will never share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Calculator inputs — salary, leave dates, and employer enhancement details you enter into our pay calculator. These are processed entirely within your browser and are never sent to or stored on our servers. We have no access to this information.
The calculator processes all calculations locally in your browser. No financial or personal data you enter into the calculator is ever transmitted to us or any third party.
Legal basis for processing
Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. For waitlist email addresses, our lawful basis is consent — you actively tick a checkbox to agree to receive updates from us before submitting your email address.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing us at hello@retura.app.
How we store your data
Your email address is stored securely using Kit (ConvertKit Inc.), a third-party email platform. Kit acts as our data processor and is contractually required to handle your data in compliance with GDPR. You can read Kit's privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our waitlist or until you request deletion. When you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our active list within 30 days.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. The only third party we share data with is Kit (for email storage and delivery), as described above. We will never share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We may be required to disclose your data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Retura or others.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use tracking cookies or third-party analytics tools. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and seek your consent where required.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
